Any idea what this could be?

Does anyone have any idea of what this could be?

Earlier in the day I thought it was a crumb from where my daughter had just eaten a cracker - brushed her teeth before bed this evening and realised it’s an actual lump of some kind. I did think maybe it was an ulcer, but I’m sure those tend to be flat, where this is quite raised.

It doesn’t seem to be bothering my 2 year old as she hasn’t shown/told me about it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - not sure whether to book a doctors appointment or a dentist?

Has she maybe bit her lip?

Ulcers not always flat ime, especially ones on the lip.

I don’t think so, she hasn’t fallen or cried out as an indication she’s hurt herself. I’m hoping it is just that, as I honestly have no idea what else it could be. Thank you for commenting x

Is it like a bubble? If so I get them. They aren't painful (an ulcer that size would be very sore). I just pop them and they heal really fast but they also go away on their own so I'd leave it alone

Could be an oral mucocele. Usually painless and harmless. Have a google and see what you think

Yes that’s probably how I’d describe it. She doesn’t seem bothered by it as I’m sure she would have showed signs of distress with it. I’ll keep a close eye on it, thank you for commenting x

I did have a little google and saw about this, but that stressed me out more as I saw they have to be surgically removed.

My DD had a mucocele under her tongue, it used to swell and recede over a period of almost a year. At times it was painful but the doctor said it would need removing. The only thing that helped was Orajel applied, then seemingly overnight it just disappeared.

Oh goodness🥺 I’m not sure whether I should make an appointment? This morning it doesn’t look as ‘full’ as it did last night. I’m going to keep an eye and hope it disappears🤞🏻 thank you so much!

That's good news! If it's not bothering her and not getting bigger I'd give it a few days and see what it's like x

Could just be Hand Foot and Mouth? They don't always get blisters in all 3 locations.

MissRainbowBrite · 20/01/2025 07:55

@Jodierin25 it was my dentist that diagnosed my DD's and recommended the Orajel. Might be worth a trip to the doctor or pharmacy to get it checked.
