Hi All,
I believe my three year old son caught norovirus
it started vomiting and few episodes of diarrhea but more vomiting since Sunday night. He drinks water but lost his appetite and still says tummy hurts. My husband and I felt I’ll for two days we recovered okay. My son still not interested in food. It’s day 5 now is this normal? Any help advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Is he weeing?

Can you measure how much liquid he's taking in a day?

You could try tempting him.with a few ready salted crisps - they have salts, fats, easy on the tummy, OKsh if vomit back up and they are tasty. Hopefully that would kick start his appetite. It's hard to know if it is hurting be ayse he's poorly still or because he's hungry.

Sometimes little ones get out of the habit of eating and need to ease back in.

Any temperature? Rashes?

But do phone the NHS helpline, see your GP of worried. How are they in themselves? Are they playing and happy? Are they drowsy ? (If drowsy - get them checked out,)

Hi thank you for replying
he is eating but very small amount. He drinks a lot of water which he normally does as well. He weeps and opened bowls as normal. No fever or rashes. Just doesn’t want to eat and normally he loves food. Called GP today and they said it’s coming to end of it. Give it few more days

He could possible have made a connection of eating food = vomiting.

Just take it gently, foods he likes, little amounts, maybe a buffet tea with you all there chatting having a nice time?
I used to worry over this lots - mine were happy with a plain biscuit and crackers..

He is eating something so try to not worry. Is he back out playing? Perhaps a trip to the park to see if fresh air and using up energy helps?
