8 year old tummy pulls upwards

My daughter is 8 years old and has been on off troubles at regular intervals for the last 12 months. Including, nausea, tummy pains, stinging when wee’ing and most recently the feeling of her stomach being ‘pulled upwards’ when she is sitting on the toilet. This takes around 10/15 for her tummy to settle back down after she’s been on the toilet. We have been sent to a&e various times with blood tests and they’ve ruled out anything out of the ordinary and also not found uti’s etc

it’s all well and good the tests coming back normal but I’m at home dealing with her constantly complaining and seeing her in pain. Everytime I ask our hospital what this could be we’re just met with ‘well her bloods are normal’ so I don’t really know where to go from here.

at this moment it is a daily occurrence of nausea and tummy pains and the pulling up sensation happens every time she sits on the toilet. I’m at a loose end and I just want to help her! Does anyone have any suggestions please.

Is it any worse after she eats certain types of foods?

If it hasn't already been discussed with you, worth reading around "functional abdominal pain" which is very common as a description of recurrent belly pains and other sensations in this age group. St. George's Hospital have a good leaflet.

Has she had a coeliac screening test done?

lovemycbf · 05/01/2025 21:41

Sounds like an intolerance to food like a previous poster has said coeliac disease ought to be looked into or lactose intolerance
You need to speak to a doctor again and request testing for this
