Blood Pressure

hello,
just wanting some advice and I’m unsure what to do.
back story my son(9) developed sepsis two years ago and was in hospital quite a while. They also found out he had quite high blood pressure and put him on medication for some time (around 6 months) till it regulated.
I took him to urgent care last night as he developed sensitivity to light and was generally unwell and said it was viral infection. They did his blood pressure and it was quite high. I explained he had a form for high blood pressure and had been taken off his medication. She said to take him back to his GP in a week and if it was still the same he would be admitted.
obviously I’m feeling quite panicky due to his past and I’ve monitored his blood pressure this morning and it’s 142/98 still.
I’m unsure what to do as I don’t really know anything about blood pressure. Will it be okay leaving it for a week or do I need to take him back? When he was in hospital the last time they wouldn’t let him out till it was a normal level and obviously I’m very worried.
any advice would be appreciated x

I'm a paediatric nurse. That is very high for a 9 year old. Since he'd been treated for hypertension previously. I would not be happy to wait that long. I presume you've taken it more than once? Even if he is crying/ uncooperative. That is still to high.

How is your son now? Did you contact 111? Or get a review?

Hope he is ok.

It’s still the same- I called the hospital and they said to leave it a week.
he is still no better though and he won’t eat now as he says he feels really sick.
