Hi everyone,

Having a major panic, currently on phone to 111. DS is 8 months and had vomiting and diarrhoea at the weekend, I now have this and think it's norovirus, he has still been out of sorts today and not eating solids and barely feeding from me. Took him to the doctors this morning and they were very dismissive and said he's fine if he has wet nappies. He was in the bath this evening and suddenly had a little sort of absence and his eyes rolled back in his head. I got him out immediately got him out and he was then fine and asleep about twenty minutes later. His temperature is now 35.6. Should I take him to A and E?

You don’t need to wait for a call back. Get your baby to A and E now.

I'd head to A&E. That way if he does it again he's in a safe place. It may be nothing, but absences are a bit unusual at that age. And low temperatures can be more worrying than high ones.

I'm hoping mother and baby are at the hospital now

Hoping you are at a&E .. 111 will just send you to A&E

teatoast8 · 16/12/2024 22:53

Definitely go straight to a&e

Get back to them if you don't hear soon.

@Emonade how is your little one?

Every now and then we get a thread like this where the OP never returns. Life takes over I guess.

Hi everyone! On the way to A and E I dropped my phone and it smashed so badly and it's only today I've managed to get everything swapped onto the new one. Thank you for all your advice, we did end up just taking him in, they were amazing and madly we were in and out in two hours. They said the absence was probably because he had been poorly and the bath was warm/it's one of those things and thankfully it hasn't happened again, they gave us some numbing spray for his throat because it was sore after the vomiting. But thankfully now he is completely recovered
