How to treat a UTI which might be something else

My 6 year old daughter has typical symptoms of having a UTI (constantly feeling the urge to wee, very upset and panicking that she will wet herself when she’s just been to the toilet). This started yesterday afternoon and we saw a Dr yesterday evening. The Dr did a dip test of her urine which came back negative for infection. She said she would send it to the lab for further testing as the dip test doesn’t always pick up infections, especially in children.

Yesterday night was awful, daughter was up for hours trying to go to the toilet and inconsolable if anyone else needed to use the bathroom. Thankfully she fell asleep eventually and slept through.
This morning I’ve called the Drs back for advice but all they’ve said is that until the lab results are back they can’t do anything and just to give her lots of fluids.

Looking for advice if anyone has had something similar and if there’s anything I can give to help her at home other than fluids and calpol. I’m worried the lab results will be negative for infection so no treatment, then I won’t know what steps to take next.

Did you ever find out if DD had a uti? Currently have similar issues with DD. hoping for a doctors appointment tomorrow but also stressing there won’t be any available and not sure what to do. Whatever it is has completely wiped her out.
