FTM hand foot and mouth

Hi ladies

FTM here. 14 month old has hand foot and mouth. Last week around Thursday she was quite bunged up and a bit grotty, didn’t think much of it.

yesterday had really high temp, gave some
ibuprofen and got the temp down. All seemed well and then woke up this morning to a few spots round the mouth.

as the morning went on noticed that they looked like blisters. Called Dr who saw DD and said she has HFAMD. they asked if any spots anywhere else I said no, but as the day as gone on she’s developed some on the bum and the legs also look spotty but they’re ’under the skin’ if that makes sense.

I guess my question is - how much worse is it likely to get? I saw on NHS website that stage 1 is the sore throat and temp etc, and then stage 2 is the blisters etc. is this a mild case as DD is ok in herself and still happy playing just a bit clingy, or is this just the start and due to get much worse?

Dr didn’t say anything about it spreading to adults but DD lives with myself and grandparents and we’ve all been giving her kisses up until today (still kisses but just not on the face!). Is it pretty likely or rare that this spreads to parents?

My kids have had it roughly 4-5 times, my older girl had it once and had a single blister near her mouth, my little boy has had it so bad we had to take him to a and e as she screamed nonstop for six hours, his face was totally covered in painful blisters it was awful, generally it's quite mild! And I've never caught it from them so you're probably safe there too
