Drool rash help

Hi
I have a 4 month old little girl and she has a rash on her chin. She is drooling ALOT and we go through 100000 bibs a day. I try to keep the area dry and have tried vaseline. But nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any advice. First time mum so greatly appreciate any help.
P.s it doesn't seem to be bothering her. Just upsets me more looking at it.
Thanks.

I'd try Sudocrem for soothing and bepanthem as a barrier - try not to interfere too much, I know it's so hard but it will clear up, their skin is so so sensitive but it bounces back pretty quickly!

I'd just keep it dry, I know it's annoying with the bibs but it'll pass. Be really mindful of not letting milk on bibs/clothes sit next to it to at least keep it clean

I would probably go to the doctor as it does look sore. My DS had similar but on his chest, very drooly, millions of bibs as well. He had a patch of eczema behind his ear the doctor gave steroid cream for and I would very sparingly put this on his chest too which kept it at bay. They may prescribe something similar for you.

Poor little one. I have found La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 to be great for dribble + cold rash but not when my DD was quite that small so check it's suitable.

Thank you. I tried this last night and it seemed to help a bit.

That's great to know.. I use Cicaplast myself and checked it's suitable for 3+ months so I'll def be giving it a go.

If it doesn't clear up or gets worse I will do that. Thank you for replying!

DS had a touch of thrush so I put a mega thin layer of canesten which cleared up his dribble rash. I also swipe some nappy cream (Weleda) on his rash at every nappy change to act as a barrier.

Yea I think that's that's the only way. Like you say it's annoying but reassuring it won't last long. Thanks for replying x

Thank you for the tips. I have to try the relevant nappy cream, I heard it's great.

My 5 month old had a dribble rash like this a few weeks ago. Had spread so much it was ear to ear and down to his chest. I tried EVERYTHING to no avail. Went to gp in the end who prescribed steroid cream (H45 I think it’s called) used twice a day for a week. After a few days is was gone, went all flakey so I stopped it and started using Aveeno.

now I just put the steroid on it if it’s particularly bad one day and it nips it in the bud with one use.

might be worth a trip to gp?
