Daily tummy pain since September

I’ve posted about this before but I’m getting worried now ☹️
DD8 had a diahhrea bug at end of August with tummy pains. After 2 weeks the diahhrea finally subsided but the tummy pains didn’t. Every day she complains it hurts, often multiple times a day. It’s genuine pain-she bends over and goes pale when it hurts.
its always around her tummy button or just above it. She’s had bloods/ coeliac screen / uti test done and all perfect. No obvious cause. GP seems to think it will pass on its own and to keep up with paracetomal / ibuprofen but I’m aware I’ve been giving her this since September and that doesn’t feel right. She’s also had slight weight loss and is urinating more frequently.
at first I thought it was anxiety related but I now don’t as even during lovely happy times it suddenly hits her and she has to stop playing,

what next, what else can I push for? I keep waking up hoping today will be the day she doesn’t have a sore tummy but that day feels far away and it’s taking it’s toll on her and on me as I’m worried but keep having to put on a brave face and tell her it will pass☹️

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Do you know if the stool test included a calprotectin (I think that’s spelt right) and C. difficile? The latter can cause diarrhoea and then stomach pain after for a while. I hope she feels better soon, my son had similar and they tested for all sorts it was a worrying time.

Also worth repeating the coaliac tests because children sometimes need a follow up test, and if she had not been eating normally last time because of the upset tummy then maybe she wouldn't have had high enough antibodies to detect- don't cut out gluten until she has been tested

That’s really interesting I didn’t know this.

They have tested for that and seemed surprised the calprotectin was fine but it was. Not sure about C dificile. Thank you for understanding and I’m sorry you went through similar ☹️I feel like I relax and then she says it hurts mummy and I feel all anxious all over again ☹️

Thank you so so much, I’m sorry you have had a hard year of
worry too. Your message really calmed me down 🥰thank you so much. Have called to leave a message for the GP to move things forward I hope.

I'm really glad you're feeling calmer today and hope the GP gets back to you asap!

Did you ever get any answers OP? Sounds possibly similar to my DD, 11, especially the being cold. Hope your child has made a recovery and you are well.

I did! It turned out to be grumbling appendicitis. She had an emergency appendectomy in January and when they biopsied the appendix it showed evidence of past infections😥she’s not had one sore tummy since it was removed. Appreciate this is likely an extreme case tho!

Wow, thank you for the update! That’s scary. Paediatrician mentioned it to us this week as possible but said they won’t operate unless it goes berserk. I’m so glad your daughter has recovered and is safe and well.

thank you that’s so kind. That’s really good it’s on their radar I guess. I hope it’s not this for your child - feels bonkers to wait for it to become an emergency before they do anything doesn’t it😥
