Do I need to bring my 2 year old to doctor? Has loose stools and really foul smelling. Has a good bit of mucous yesterday. She is in good form. Doesn't seem sick at all. Anyone have this before either their lo?

Is she getting some teeth? Looks like a teething poo

Ohownnoe · 26/11/2024 08:30

One loose poo and some vomit does not mean a trip to the doctor!! Keep up fluids, keep an eye on her tummy, keep her away from other people for 48 hours after the last episode of d or v.

In my experience no. More likely it's a D&V bug which you definitely don't need a doctor for unless you become worried about dehydration

There's absolutely no evidence that teething causes loose stools.

OP, kids get runny tummies and bugs. Unless you're worried they're dehydrated I wouldn't personally see a need to go to a doctor. Kids get sick all the time.

Just keep an eye on water and solid input and output.

If you say so

@LadyAmroth it's not what I say so, it's on the NHS website.

There is absolutely zero evidence that teething causes diarrhoea. Some mums just assume it's that, when in fact their child just has an upset stomach. Children can start teething when they have an upset stomach, you know.

ringmybe11 · 26/11/2024 11:42

Re teething poos I've found they're a little looser as there's so much saliva going down into the stomach but it isn't actual diarrhoea
