My son is 4 and last night and this morning he was crying in pain when trying to wee.

I'm going to get a GP appointment but would you still send to school or keep home? He's happy mostly but he also is a wee with holder so not sure what to do. He's had slot of illness the last term that's why I'm hesitant

I’d keep him home if he’s struggling to wee. Make sure he’s seen today and take a sample with you

He's 4, I honestly wouldn't worry about school. Is it swollen? My DS had an infection when he was young and needed antibiotics.

Also, put him in a warm bath and tell him to wee in there, it will be less painful.

Keep him home. The GP will prefer him being at home instead being told "he's in school, can we have an appointment after school finishes? " Especially if there is only emergency availability left and you need to come down at short notice.

Thanks everyone. I have kept him home. He's managed to wee a bit but it hurts him. It doesn't look swollen but his wee is a bit smelly. Hopefully get an appointment this morning. Trying to get him to drink more too

He's been given antibiotics for a UTI poor thing
