Adenoid removal :(

My Daughter has just had a sleep study she has enlarged adenoids and suspected sleep apnea, on her sleep study her oxygen level was at 92 for most of the night and sometimes dropping to 80s and at one point to 71 for a few seconds, she really struggles of a night and snores a lot and gasps for breath does any one know if they will take adenoids out sooner when they see the slee study results, as I really am worried every night she is 2 years old, surely it would be urgent?

No idea about your actual question I'm afraid, just popping in to say that I had mine removed ages 6 and I have literally NEVER had a cold since. I'm now nearly 50!

I had mine removed too, I sleep really well and my nose is always clear
Recommend.

I just don’t see how they won’t do anything if her oxygen levels are dropping that much whilst she is asleep, online it says that 92 and below is a medical emergency, and if she’s staying at 85-92 for 2 minutes it is dangerous I am scared to sleep and have to watch her most of the night I take the machine back tomorrow to the hospital I’m just hoping they give her something to help her breathe of a night or keep her in to remove her adenoids as that’s what they said is blocking her airways :(

DS had a sleep study and his tonsils and adenoids were out 11 days later because of his o2 levels dropping. I was pretty much told it wasn't optional (not that I was resisting), they HAD to come out!

Took me ages to get the GP surgery to refer us initially but by god did they move after that sleep study.

I had mine removed when I was 18 months

Not an expert, but will she mouth breathe if she's not getting it through her nose?

Hoping for the best outcome for you and I'm sure it will go ahead soon xx

I really do hope they remove them asap I’m sick of all the waiting times I get that they are busy but she’s 2 years old and I can’t have her suffering any longer I think she will sleep so much better with them removed, she also constantly has a blocked nose and runny nose and they said it’s due to the adenoids :(

Do you remember what his oxygen levels were dropping to during the study?

Yes she constantly mouth breathes during the day and at night we do have to sometimes open her mouth as she would just have foam round her mouth
