Low muscle tone in toddler - what does the future look like?

We have been told by a physio and paediatrician that DD has low muscle tone. The reasons are still being investigated and it might be a long wait for any sort of diagnosis but I’m just wondering what the future might look like? She is not yet walking at almost 2.5 but has been making steady progress. Apart from gross motor skills she doesn’t have other developmental delays.

Has anyone else experienced this? Did your children always struggle with physical activity or did they catch up with others eventually? Did they have any problems at school?

My niece was like this and diagnosed with dyspraxia at 10. She struggles with sports, coordination, carrying her heavy school bags etc

Have they done any investigations?

Sorry I see it's under investigations do you know what if any test have they done?

It has been very slow getting referrals and appointments although we have been seeing the physio since 19 months. We have now been referred for blood tests and genetics and still have to wait a month for the blood test appointment. I imagine the genetics part will be an especially long wait if initial blood tests don’t show anything clear.

I have wondered about dyspraxia but her fine motor skills are not terrible. I am pretty uncoordinated myself but walked normally at 13 months.
