Tounge tie reattachment p

Hi,

Just looking for a little advice really, my baby had a division when he was 2 months old. I've noticed he's never really stuck his tounge out.

Was checked today by practitioner who agreed it has probably reattached but could not fully assess as couldn't get under Tounge without biting.

GP appointment booked for Monday - just wondering if anyone else has been in this positon?

This is as high as he can reach his tounge?
Thank you

What is the GP going to do? They'll have to refer and then you'll be waiting as they won't have the relevant training. I'd go private and get it redone ASAP. It's normally like £200.

Or depending on age, go to a breastfeeding clinic/ help group- they often have a lactation consultation who is tongue tie trained.

That does look restricted. I would go back to where it was snipped. Can your GP refer?

Hi, I'm unsure - the practitioner who released this said to contact them as he is 15 months now she cannot release? Is this typically the case?

I did, she visited today and was advised she cannot release again due to him being 15 months - apparently over 1 year they cannot do it?

Yes a lot of places will have an age stop. Presumably you’d need a GA for that age. Argh.

My friend had hers done as an adult. It helped improve oral hygiene, being able to clear food from her teeth, licking ice cream etc even some word pronunciation. May need to wait until then if it causes issues. Hopefully it won’t
