Baby showing signs of cerebral palsy

Hi everyone ,
I was wondering if anyone had any advice or have had there own experiences with this

my son has just turned 12 weeks (will be 13 on Tuesday)
since around 4 weeks I have noticed he doesn’t follow or track with his eyes. He doesn’t seem like he focus’s on anything at all really. Sometimes I swear he looks me directly in the eyes but then I’m not sure. He is under specialist care with the paediatric eye department and was seen at 10 weeks, my concerns have been seen and he is having a VEP done on his brain Thursday coming as nothing was found to be wrong with his actual eyes, no prescription needed. So they have referred him to see if this is a brain issue or possibly just a developmental delay.

at his 6-8 week check done last Monday (so slightly late) they have discovered he has one leg longer then the other by 1cm. So he is being referred to paeds again for a hip scan. I have also noticed he is behind on other things too, and constantly has his hands in fists and favours one side more then the other , so if getting a very odd head shape. Although he does open them sometimes. He is a very smiley boy , but that is about it. I’ve been googling and I know it’s not the best thing to do but i just can’t help it and I want answers. Has anyone’s little ones been diagnosed with cerebral palsy? What concerns did you have? I know he is still very young but I know catching things early can help. He had a possible seizure at birth but didn’t show any signs infront of anyone after so it was sort of disregarded. He also had oxygen support at birth.

@Jessiecat123
hi, was wondering how your LO is now? And what the outcome was (if any) x

I really hope you got the support you needed back in November @Jessiecat123 . The trouble with mumsnet having so many different boards is that a post on a specialist topic can go unnoticed and may never get a response.

Sending you hugs @Jessiecat123 - sounds like a really challenging time - hope you and little one are ok and echo other PPs sorry you didn’t get the support you needed at the time x. X
