Raised liver enzyme levels

Does anyone know anything about raised alkaline phosphate levels? My toddlers are 1245 range is between 150-369 or something along those lines.

His symptoms are night sweats, limp, several abnormally enlarged lymph nodes.

GP started asking me about childhood cancers so now my anxiety is off the charts. They want to re-test in 2 weeks with more extensive bloods to see if they are still raised. What could this be?

TIA

I don't know, sorry, but bumping this thread so hopefully someone who does know will see it.

I hope your mind is put at ease and that he feels better soon.

Hope you get some answers from the professionals soon

I would suggest staying off google

If you are worried about him being limp i would take him to A&E

did he eat leaves in the park/garden?
(thinking of foxglove poisoning)

LorettyTen · 09/10/2024 21:10

One cause of high AP levels is viral infection, which would also explain the other symptoms your child is having.
Please don't Google, try to be patient. I know it's hard.
I hope he's better soon.

Thank you ladies.

No eating leaves in the garden that I’m aware of, we don’t have any foxgloves for that reason!

I shall sit tight and cross everything.

My daughter had an extremely high ALP earlier this year. It was around 5000!!! They repeated it 3 weeks later and it had come back to normal. She had the bloods taken as was generally unwell, on/off fever etc so in the end they put it down to a viral infection or potentially glandular fever. I was so worried during the weeks we were waiting for repeat bloods. Were the other bloods normal? X

Night sweats + lymph nodes + limp sounds like a bit of a worrying combination in themselves, I think the GP should get advice from a paediatrician or refer, if they haven't already.

….Not if every other blood is ok…
