Teeth falling out in wrong order.

I’ll start by saying I’m super dentist phobic so anything to do with teeth really stresses me out. I take my children to the dentist every 6 months which is coming up in a couple of weeks but my son (10) has a loose canine on the bottom but hasn’t lost any first molars which everything on line would suggest should have come out before canines.

Are there any dentists or parents with experience of teeth coming out in the wrong order who can reassure me this isn’t a problem.

Thank you!

My daughter had baby teeth at the front for a while

My son had canines come through before his front teeth as a toddler so looked like a vampire - not everyone is by the book

Thank you both, I just find anything to do with teeth and/or dentists so stressful and worrying.

My dd's just won't fall out. Almost 12 they wobble her jaw grows then they stop wobbling. Dentist isn't worried yet.

Just her canines or hasn’t she lost any teeth?

Seems lots of kids teeth don’t follow the standard pattern!

She's lost some but none of us can remember which ones to be honest. She's got some new ones come through behind the old ones though. I think it's quite normal.

It’s really hard to remember which ones they have lost isn’t it! I had to check back on photos once because the dentist asked me how long ago a tooth had fallen out as the adult one was taking its time to come through!

Hopefully your dd’s will all come through soon with no problems for her!

It's funny how different they all are. DS1's teeth fell out pretty symmetrically, two at a time, usually within days of each other. Then a few months would pass and another two. DS2 went years without losing any teeth after the first few, had a shark tooth at one side for months, then when that resolved, he got another shark tooth on the other side! Nothing for about 3 years, then when he was 11 he lost about 8 teeth in 6 weeks. He's 12 now and four of them still haven't come down, but he can feel them through his gum. He's a very anxious child and always worries that he has lost an adult tooth, so I have to go online and look at the charts to reassure him.

Aww it must be strange for him if he seems to loose them in batches.

Its been a few years since my son lost any too, he lost his front 4 on top and bottom pretty much in the order they say is ‘normal’ so that’s why it’s worried me that he hasn’t followed this by losing his pre-molar next. Those ones aren’t wobbly at all, just the canine.
