Does your child take vitamins and probiotics?

If so which ones?

I'm looking for some decent multivitamins for my kids ages 18 months, 3 and 6. I would prefer some which aren't full of sugar and additives but the only ones I can find are the tonic ones which are really expensive.

Also, are probiotics a necessity? Trying to get us all prepped for the incoming germs 🤮🦠

I liked the Oilesen vitamin D in an olive oil base but it's become very difficult to get hold of.

Probiotics and probiotics are available naturally in common foods.

If your DC eat a varied diet I'd say the only necessary supplement is vitamin D and I have friends who strongly disagree that even that is necessary. We spend a lot of time outdoors but all it took was a couple of months of illness including 3 weeks in total of hospital stays and DD's vitamin D level was low when tested.

Since being unwell I've been trying to boost DD's good gut bacteria naturally because, as you say, finding probiotics and probiotics supplements without dextrose, other sweeteners, or thickeners, is near impossible.

We have full fat Greek yoghurt or kefir every day plus lots of the things on the prebiotic list.

I think the advice out there to give all these supplements comes from an assumption that many kids are existing on ham/cheese sandwiches, chicken nuggets, fishfingers and pasta. These kids probably need the supplements but if yours are willing to eat meat, fish and all different colours of veggies you're probably ok.

If you do find a prebiotic supplement with no nasties please can you let me know as I'm still considering this for DD.

We did probiotics for a while but not sure if we saw a benefit.
We do a multivitamin but only because my daughter has a restricted diet due to multiple food allergies and reflux which means she often stops eating

If they have a good diet I believe it's only vitamins a,c and d that there's a benefit in having in a multi vitamin

I gave the kids wild nutrition ones last winter and think it did make a difference. Good idea to make sure they're eating plain yogurt or kefir and a range of veg. There are chocolate ball probiotics in h&b the kids love.

Just realised my post autocorrected a couple of prebiotics to probiotics! Sorry - it makes it a confusing read!
