Does anyone recognise this rash/spots?

I’ve emailed my GP and waiting for a reply, I’d like to take her to the pharmacist but I’m also worried that if it’s infectious I don’t want to risk taking her there just incase.

I thought initially it might be Hand, Foot and Mouth but the spots are at their worst around her bum and legs, there’s a good few on her arms too but none on her face or tummy (yet). They first appeared last night and became more red and raised this morning. She seems well enough within herself, she’s supposed to go to nursery tomorrow but I doubt she’ll be able to go at this rate 😅.

any ideas/advice?

I would take her to the pharmacy. That's what I always do when my daughter has unexplained rashes. It's the quickest way to get eyes on a rash. Don't worry about being infectious. Popping in and out of a a shop isn't the same as spending a day at nursery touch and licking things.
It can help speed up the doctors too. I went when my daughter had impetigo at a weekend. I phoned 111 explained I had seen a pharmacist who suggested impetigo, I described the rash the GP agreed an half an hour later I was back at the pharmacy picking up some cream. After 48h on the cream she was back at nursery.

I'd say chicken pox.

My sons Hand Foot and mouth was much more prominent on his bum than anywhere else. Chicken pox tends to start on the trunk and spreads outwards

Thank you so much for replying! Sadly I was giving a cream for impetigo yesterday, I have a small patch on my face and I know there’s a different variant that can cause spots so I’m worried it could be that too, I’ll take her to the pharmacy today just to be safe and that way I’ll have two opinions!

Her bum and thighs are where it’s at its worst and where it seems to have first started! They’re definitely starting to look like blisters but she’s not itching at them, she doesn’t seem to be bothered by them at all and she’s not unwell so I’m confused and although she’s well it’s still making me worried 😅 thanks for replying!

My son was the same. Don't think he even noticed he had them, apart from he would occasionally favour the side of his foot that didn't have blisters.

Whentwobecomesthree · 10/09/2024 14:46

Let us know how you get on. I'm intrigued now!

Went to the pharmacy and he didn’t know what it was, he was leaning towards chicken pox but because they were so clustered together he wasn’t sure. My GP got back to me and said it’s hand, foot and mouth! I’m going to keep a close eye on her over the next 24hrs and see how she gets on and if anything changes I’ll get her down to see our GP! Thanks so much for your help!

LuckysDadsHat · 10/09/2024 20:15
