Hi there

Our son is 3 and we have noticed from 2 he walks with a limp. Health visitor wasn’t concerned atoll. Roll on 9 months and we noticed it worse. Saw our GP who referred him to orthopaedics in April. Our first appointment is next week due to long wait lists. We’ve noticed he’s not a big time tip toe walker on the left foot only. I’m now utterly utterly prettied he has a serious condition and we will lose him. He walked at 16 months. no developmental delays. Very, very clever little
boy. Ahead of milestones otherwise. No spectrum concerns. Has anyone experienced anything similar with not so scary outcomes?

many thanks.

DH did it apparently and even now his weight is very forward when he walks. Both DC did it too and even now DD20 does it sometimes when barefoot.
They are all fine

@SpeedyBulletTrain @Fueledbycoffeealways thank you for your comments. Yes the worrying part for our consultant was that he was tip toe walking on one side only. And I really do think you know your own child. He limped because of the muscle tone from as soon as he could walk however we assumed early on that it was something that would correct itself as he leaned to walk properly.

In our case the MRI would give a clear answer of most probably incredibly mild CP and it would be for peace of mind more than anything. At our trust anyway they don’t push this if they can diagnose on symptoms alone but happy to look at it if we would like.

No he isn’t wearing any boot currently. Physio only however that might change. I can provide an update after his next session.

I would add he has no muscle weakness anywhere else. His head, arms, hands all strong and his behaviour/milestones all being hit OK.

Good luck at your next appointment.
