Teenage DD has an issue. Normally I would be straight on phone to GP/take action but she is saying she filled out the questionnaire on nhs 111 site and the result was something like "look after yourself if gets worse or symptoms remain after 48 hours seek medical help" she is saying she doesn't need to go docs or see anyone right away and she isnt going to and will say if it gets any worse, but I don't know what to do, do I just trust her judgement/instinct it's new territory for me this as she's not a young kid anymore but a young woman.

Some minor pain when going to the toilet

Then loads of water and 24 hr symptom monitoring, unless she has underlying health issues

By 'going to the toilet' do you mean passing urine? If so and she's getting some symptoms like stinging or discomfort, it's highly likely to be a UTI. Encourage her to drink a lot of water and get her to contact the GP tomorrow for antibiotics. The sooner they're started, the less advanced the infection will get. UTIs can get nasty. Pharmacists (in England) can prescribe antibiotics for UTIs too, but I think only for females age 16+.
If it's when she passes stool, then does she need help with her diet perhaps? More fibre (with lots more fluids) etc.
Hope she feels better soon.

Yes passing urine, and yes it stings slightly.

@TheBlueHoney Definitely sounds like it could be a UTI then. Drinking lots of water will help flush it through. Add half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to the water if you have some. It tastes vile but will help neutralise the acid in the urine and relieve symptoms (it won't clear the infection on its own though). Avoid tea / coffee and acidic drinks like fizzy pop or orange juice.

Don't allow her to leave it too long. Drink plenty of water. Call GP in the morning and ask for an appointment. A UTI can turn into a kidney infection. I can tell you from experience, that a kidney infection is horrendous. I have had a baby and suffer from migraines, but the pain from a kidney infection is much worse. I was very nearly admitted to hospital, if my antibiotics hadn't kicked in. I left the suspected UTI too long, hoping by drinking water it would go, and it didn't.

This!

I left a water infection once, work were so awkward about having time off that I didn’t go and thought (naively) it could be ‘flushed out’. It couldn’t and I ended up doubled over in pain with a kidney infection. I was very poorly for several days until the antibiotics began to kick in.

I suffer with regular UTIs and now I always call on day 1.

Would she normally have told you about a problem like this?
is she/could she be sexually active and gotan infection ( hence keeping it close to her chest)?

It's hard to say, this is the first time she has any issues since her teenage years. No I'm quite sure she isn't sexually active, but I suppose it's best to just ask however uncomfortable

She must get to the GP or clinic - nurse impressed that on me. Untreated UTIs can travel up the urinary tract and lead to kidney trouble. She needs to do a urine test and might well need antibiotics. If it’s still there in the morning she needs to see someone.
