Our 10 month old has had an awful cough for about 2-3 weeks now. She’s been seen by a GP who said he wasn’t concerned but is due to call us on Tuesday to check in on how she is doing. I did show him a video of one of her coughing episodes too.
It’s one of the most aggressive coughs I’ve ever seen! She panics and goes bright red in the face. She looks as though she struggles to catch a breath. She’s started to cough up a mix of clear and frothy white mucus. She’s constantly coughing to the point where she’s sick. Today alone she must have vomited about 6 times at least.
I’m trying everything I can to help- humidifier where she is, lots of fluids etc. She seems to be getting worse!
I’ve been looking for possible causes as something just doesn’t seem right. The closest I can find is whooping cough but she is up to date with her immunisations and doesn’t make a whooping noise when she coughs. Is it a possibility she could have this despite being vaccinated? I’ll obviously be calling on Monday to get her seen again but wondered if this is a valid query to raise.
Just feel so sorry for her and wish I could help her.
