My son has no known allergies
The other Wednesday he came out in hives at 2pm which disappeared soon after then again at the night time
Gave piriton and nothing till the Saturday
Friday he ended up in the walk in centre with Balinitis
He’s had little occurrences of hives, they appear on the trunk area and disappear quickly
He has been given penicillin and no issues

He isn’t ill or worked up, the balanitis has cleared now and he’s had his last dose of Amoxiclav last Wednesday, his skin is however very very dry
They went away then seemed to appear again yesterday and today. Seems to be when he gets warm. Just anxious as I am with everything

Can an infection such as this cause hives that last this long? Should I be giving him piriton regularly to run the histamine out?

I have health anxiety and my mind runs away with me I think the worst all the time and just panic

Most urticaria/hives rashes are slightly mysterious in terms of the cause (even though stereotypically associated with allergy), probably triggered by extremely mild viral infections in many cases. Usually run their course within a few days but if unlucky can be weeks. Antihistamines are the right treatment.

So could it be the balanitis?

Balanitis is usually bacteria not virus, doesn't seem an obvious link to me so maybe coincidence. You'll never know for sure, I wouldn't worry about it.

I just worry so much. When it fades it pops up somewhere else. Then seems to fade into prickly heat. My mind goes to all sorts of places!
