How old is he? Bad reflux can be a sign of a milk allergy!

He’s 6 weeks old

The anti reflux milks are just thicker than the regular formula.
Try getting some carobel to thicken the milk he has.
If you do decide to change milk you can gradually do it- ultimately all 1st stage milks have the same ingredients by law.

Other tips- hold baby upright for 30 mins after a feed to help milk stay down. Feed him at a 45 degree angle rather than laying flat.

My son had reflux and ended up on medication- luckily he out grew it around 14 months old.
Don’t use citrus based anti colic drops if you have been-that can make reflux worse.

My twins ended up on medication for reflux without CMPA and it made a big difference to their symptoms. However, if there are concerns about CMPA you really should stick with the prescription formula and add in reflux treatment as it’s possible to have both issues at the same time and need a combined approach. I would speak to your HV (if they’re one of the useful rather than useless ones!) and maybe the GP about whether a combined approach would be worth looking into.

This is sensible re: the milks - worth noting that carobel is very hard to get hold of at the moment though.
