Suspected Lymphoma toddler

Hi all,
My son saw the oncology team under the 2WW this week as he has multiple huge swollen lymph nodes around his neck. they came up with a bout of slapped cheek/tonsillitis/general viral illness which came back to back.
They measured one on his neck with a tape measure that came up 5cm, one 4cm another 3. But the measurement of what I think is the big one came up as 2cm on the ultrasound.

He had a chest xray which found a couple of white patches on his chest so that needs a CT scan which I’m waiting for any day.

Bloods came back pretty much ok except slightly low lymphocytes (I don’t know what this means). but we’re still waiting for the more specific results looking at various viruses etc.

They've ordered a biopsy under GA for ASAP as they are incredibly worried and while they say they genuinely don’t know what it is and are totally baffled they have said they are looking for and expecting lymphoma.

I say they as there were 4 very serious doctors in the room - all very scary.

I don’t know what I’m asking for really, a hand hold? Reassurance? Positive stories?

Thanks 😟 x

I'm so sorry.
I don't have any advice here.
But trust the doctors, they appear to be taking it very seriously.
I have everything crossed that it'll all be okay xxxx

Hope everything is ok. His bloods being pretty normal would give me a bit of positivity. Hope you get answers quickly and that they are positive xx

I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope that you get some better informed posters than me on soon. Try not to Google. The fact that there were four serious doctors in the room should mean that your dear son is getting the best possible care xx

I’m so sorry to hear this. My son had investigations for lymphoma a few years ago (he didn’t have it) but was told that it is the most treatable childhood cancer. Of course hoping it’s not that but maybe something to hold onto x
