Blood when wiping (8 year old girl)

Just looking for any ideas/ reassurance /experience as can’t get GP appt for another 2 weeks.
Over the last 3 months my DD8 has had around 6 episodes of blood on toilet tissue when wiping - every time has been after a poo but today it happened after just a wee. She’s got no pain 💩ing or sore tummies, and is regular with one
poo a day and it’s always a good consistency/ size etc ie I don’t think it’s constipation. The blood is minimal and pink - red. She says she’s seen it in the poo itself when at school but the ones I’ve asked to see have no visible blood 🤷‍♀️she did say earlier the toilet paper
felt
”scratchy” and while it wasn’t deluxe Shea butter andrex it wasn’t scratchy! So I’m wondering if she has a small cut down there? Nothing visible
to my eye tho she’s annoyed by me asking to peer (fair enough) so isn’t the most willing patient.

any ideas? My health anxiety always hops to the worst so I am staying far away from dr Google!

Is there a reason you don't think this is the start of menstruation? Menarche is often quite early.

nightmaries · 13/08/2024 17:44

Unless you are 100% certain that it is originating in the back passage and not from the vagina

Rosesbeforelove · 13/08/2024 17:56

Well the reason I think it’s from her bottom is that on each occasion it’s been after a poo and the one today was about 2 hours after a poo that she had blood when she wiped so I assumed it was left
from that.
she’s also only just turned 8 and shows 0 signs of puberty at all, she’s very petite for her age and the only pain she has is a scratchy feeling at her bottom when she wipes. So it’s not impossible but I think unlikely also because she has no stains/ marks in her underwear which I’d expect with menstruation I think?

Has she got a little cut in her perineum, I know you can't see much bit it could be in a crease. Has she been scratching, any sign of worms.

Rosesbeforelove · 13/08/2024 18:16

I can’t see anything but she is not patient and won’t give me long to look 🤦‍♀️no signs of worms either 🤷‍♀️

Is it fresh blood - ie red?

If not (if it is browner) and If this is new I would call the GP and get a same day telephone appointment. I would not leave it 2 weeks.

However if fresh Sounds like a haemorrhoid or small cut inside or out.

If it is internal then She might need to change her diet to include more liquid (as it has been so hot here recently so she might be dehydrated which does not help gut motility and / or she might need more soluble fibre

However you might want some guidance from the doc.

Good luck.

Rosesbeforelove · 13/08/2024 18:39

Definitely fresh- pink / red and not brown. That’s a good point about dehydration I hadn’t thought of that. Thank you.

It could be a small pile as they can bleed at times (I get them when I’m dehydrated.) And I can understand her describing a scratchy feeling too. Get her to drink lots and lots of water and see your GP.

Perhaps she has a little anal fissure and everytime she has a poo it opens up

Rosesbeforelove · 13/08/2024 18:49

is it normal that I can’t see a little fissure or cut? I’ve had a look in good light + my phone torch and it literally looks totally fine to me🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
MissMoneyFairy · 13/08/2024 20:49

The fissure would be inside so you wouldn't see it, I'd try and get the doctor to examine her. A very small cut could be in a crease and only opens when she wipes. Is it itchy.

Rosesbeforelove · 13/08/2024 20:53

Aha that’s helpful. Thank you. No she’s not been itchy, she’s completely fine apart from noticing the blood when wiping and then when I asked her today If if was sore she said no but the toilet paper
is scratchy sore feeling (and as I mentioned before while It wasn’t super soft it definitely wasn’t scratchy so it would fit with a little cut I cant
see) are they common in kids? How do they happen?
