Eye patch and swimming

My DS (4) has been wearing an eyepatch for 6 hours a day for the past few months to treat his Amblyopia. He has been doing so well and rarely complains about it (by some miracle!)
My issue is that we are going on holidays next month and I don't know what to do about swimming and keeping his eye patch on. Like a plaster, it lifts off when it's wet. He adores swimming pools and we will have our own private swimming pool which I know he will want to be in and out of all day with us.
At the moment we are patching from about half an hour after he wakes up which means he gets to take the patch off between 1 and half 2 depending on the day. This means half the day is gone before it comes off. It has to be 6 continuous hours of patching so taking it off while he's in the pool and putting it back on after isn't an option.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this? I've been looking up waterproof eyepatches but there doesn't seem to be any and I don't want to stop him enjoying his holidays. We have been following the patching regime religiously. It seems so unfair. Hoping someone can offer a solution!

If you're only going away for a week/10 days, it's not going to do any harm to have a bit of a break. The idea of the patching is to stimulate the vision in the amblyopic eye, so I'd put it on first thing in the morning for a couple of hours and do something visually stimulating during that time (ipad, reading a book, lego, watching TV, doing a jigsaw, colouring, puzzles etc). Take it off and then put another patch on in the late afternoon/evening. 3/4 hours rather than 6 is not going to put you back in terms of improving vision for a short period of time.

Great, thanks for the reassurance! No harm being more lax I suppose for the 10 days we're there. He's been so good otherwise, just didn't want to undo all the hard work he's done!

Not that I know anything about this, but could he wear one on the string like a pirate?

xyz while that is a very pleasing idea that my DD would have loved, they are like a large plaster that fits over the whole eye socket and sticks down, hence coming off while wet.
Agree with pp, some time is better than no time and there may be trips for example where he could wear it for longer. I would definitely do a bit every day to ensure that he doesn't get out of his good habits.
