'Nits' question!

Currently treating daughter. How on earth do you get rid of the eggs that are stuck to hair? We've got rid of all the lice crawling about but when you put a nit comb through the eggs they don't come out...even when I try with fingers some of the eggs are stuck solid to hair. I've read posts on here saying put conditioner on first but is this just for removing lice? It's like they are glued to the hair and some eggs are too small!

Leave conditioner in after washing and use the comb then, they should glide out easier. Do you have a metal comb? I found the plastic ones rubbish. Metal is best!

A nitty gritty comb is best and well worth the cost. The comb tines have grooves that grab the eggs as you comb through.

Most of the treatments kill the eggs as well as the lice so I tried not to freak out too much and we were always clear after the second application. You can sometimes see dead eggs left on the shaft as the hair grows

Metal comb, the nitty gritty one is good. Also hedrin once does seem to actually kill the eggs. I've finally got rid of the last of the eggs in DDs hair from the last bout by hand but they'd been there ages and hadn't hatched after the hedrin.

nitty gritty comb and I found putting conditioner on the hair, letting it dry and then wetting it again before sectioning and running the gritty comb though worked well as DD had very curly hair

If you have treated with a treatment that kills eggs they shouldn't hatch anyway. But get a metal nit comb and a big bottle of cheap coconut conditioner. Smother the hair in conditioner, leave for 10 minutes then comb through. Rinse the comb after each pass through the hair.

Yes we've put nit wits on earlier

I use my nails to grip them really well and slide them off.
