High Temp, sick with any medicine

I have never been able to get medicine in my little one, since he was past 1year old.
He is sick as soon as any medicine goes in his mouth or if he tries to swallow it.
I have tried putting it in other things, food he likes, drinks, small amounts with a syringe...nothing is working and no medicine is getting in him.
He is currently poorly with a temp of 38 and I am worried if it gets any higher.
Has anyone else had this problem with their child?

Will he manage if you put it in strawberry ice cream? Is it the texture or the taste? A smoothie shot is really good at hiding the taste and texture.

Obviously don't tell him there's medicine in it. Just vitamins to help him get better

At 39.4 you really need to be getting that temperature down - anything above 40 can cause febrile seizures.

If you really can't, then I would call 111 for advice who would likely send you to A&E

FFS this just isn’t true. Febrile seizures are thought to be caused by the speed the temperature goes up by, not how high the temperature is. The height of a temperature isn’t an indicator as to how ill a child can be.

Have you tried baby nurofen. My children both tolerated it better - and it brings temps down more reliably

His temperature went down by early this morning, he has been sick twice this morning, which could be down to a number of things...not sure if it's just a viral infection with temp and he was complaining of sore throat, and he is usually sick when has bad throat, or could be tummy bug, or could be to do with the heat and his temp.
I have no idea, but he seems alot better the end of today, he has snacked on some foods and drank lots of fluids and still no temp.
So just hoping we are out the other end of it now 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Glad to hear that OP.
Would be helpful for the future if you got some paracetamol suppositories from your GP.
My DD is now 27, but I got them and used them up to the age of 10 with her.
