Paediatric endocrinology appointment - what to expect

My 14 year old son had his bloods done at the GP when checking for anything around delayed puberty. His results came back with high thyroid levels and very low testosterone.
He was referred and we have an appointment from that.
Has anyone been through this at all and can give me an idea of what to expect? I assume they'll take more blood (much to his horror!) but where would they start? The thyroid or the testosterone? Obviously we have too wait and see what they say but any ideas? We'll prepare a food diary as well just to have that info ready.

Depending what's been already done may be more bloods, likely an X ray as this can show how much growing is left to do. Worth your son knowing the doctor will have to properly examine his genitals and ask nosy questions about which elements of puberty are/aren't happening. If you come with a height known for both parents, and ideally the age you started puberty (though men often vague about this) it's helpful data.

Thank you. He's had fsh, lh, progesterone, prolactin, thyroid and testosterone levels done. I've told him that they may well do some more. I looked up the consultant who's a woman but dad and I will both be there so he can accompany the examination part!
We were both fairly late to puberty but not this late. He's still got the dimples on the backs of his knuckles which I think (with my xray vision) hopefully shows there's room for growth still.
He just wants to grow upwards and develop! We've reassured him that everyone does things at different times, he'll get there, but just making sure there's nothing underlying I guess
