Are tonsils this big normal?

This is my 3y4m olds tonsils. He's always had huge tonsils but never gets poorly. He has the odd cough/cold and he's had 1 sickness bug in his life. He's had 1 ear infection in his life, 1 bout of tonsillitis and 1 chest infection. He did have a viral wheeze before he was 1 which had gone by the time he was 2.

He has a slight speech delay. The words are there but to others he can be hard to understand, I understand him best, my husband struggles with some of his words but my mum & nursery notice his speech much more than me. He struggles pronounces some words especially T's, K's and S's. Could enlarged tonsils be the cause of this?

I appreciate it's not the best photo

Sorry post cut off -

No tonsils like that will not cause any issues with speech.

Can anyone please help as this is driving me nuts.

My DS 6 came down with fever lethargic and sore throat we were seen by OOH GP who said it's Tonsillitis and prescribed antibiotics Penicillin 250mg 5ml 4 times a day for 10 days. Now I was checking my phone and came across his previous prescription for Pharyngitis where the Dr had prescribed Amoxicillin 250mg 10 ml 3 times a day for 7 days.
Now I am thinking did the Dr yesterday do a error for the dose ie the ml 5ml instead of 10 ml.
Any moms out there who's kid has had antibiotics please help me with this. Reason being when he has the amoxicillin dose he got a lot better sooner. And with this Penicillin after 4 doses his throat is no good even the fever is still there and needs Calpol/Nurofen

I am not sure I am making sense but I have tried Googling for this but no info on the per ML (5 or 10 per dose) so I have turned to somewhere I always get answers.

Thank you 🙏

Those doses are completely correct- you can't compare volume or milligram dose between different antibiotics, they are completely different drugs, albeit from the same drug family. For a 6 year old Penicillin V dose is 250mg four times daily, and for Amoxillin 500mg three times daily. 4 doses is only 24hours, so still very early days to see improvement. Hope he feels better soon. The BNF is the bible of all prescribing in the UK and its available online now so always a good place to check about medications.

Exactly as above previous poster -
Drug doses cannot be compared when they are different drugs.
