A verruca that won't go away?

DD has had her first verruca, we are working through the childhood illnesses and afflictions it seems.
I've been using Bazzuka, a hard crust of skin develops after a week, I remove it, but the verruca is still there.
What am I doing wrong? She's squeamish at the best of times, so won't let me do much more than apply a cream.

I've been struggling with this for years with DD3 I'm afraid. Used Bazucka. Been to podiatrist and had it burnt and needled.its still bloody there. Sorry. No advice but solidarity.

Took me 8 years to get rid of my very stubborn verruca.

Duct tape got rid of my son's having tried everything else. It suffocates the skin cells.

My 5 year old one lasted about 5 months and we put bazuka on it every day/or every other day and then a plaster over the top. Went through so many plasters 😂 but then it disappeared

My gran always use to swear by a trip to the beach to cure verrucas . Something to do with the exfoliation of the sand and the salt in the sea.

I have no idea if it works but the worst case scenario is a nice trip to the seaside.

Dd has had result with filing and soaking feet every night and applying bazuka extra strength

Dotdashdottinghell · 13/06/2024 21:12

Oh solidarity to you all, I really fell for the marketing hype that I'd stick the Bazzuka on a few times and the bugger would disappear, it seems that's not quite the case though.

I'll give a few of these suggestions a go, thank you.

When I was at school I had a large persistent one and ended up in hospital, where the consultant said it wasn't a wart it was a callosity as it didn't have blood vessels in it, and did nothing for it. When I hobbled home, my mum said if it was a callous, we could treat it with Carnation callous caps, which we did and it sorted it, in several white layers, revealing that it did have capillaries in it. Those were based on salicylic acid. I have since dealt with tiny verrucas with Bazuka successfully but they were small.

Apple cider vinegar worked for us.

Are you using the extra strength Bazzuka OP? The normal stuff didn't work on my son, but the extra strength got rid of it in a few weeks
