Kids nosebleeds - any tips?

Has anyone found anything to lessen / stop regular kids nosebleeds? DS(9) has one pretty much every early morning. I did once speak to nurse who said just one of those things…
I had nosebleeds as a child and my mother was into herbalism so I took a disgusting mixture which actually, astonishingly, did have some impact. Not planning on subjecting DS to that though!
Has anyone found anything works to stop their occurrence or is it just something he needs to eventually grow out of?

Has he not been prescribed a nasal spray? My dd had one for a while. He could also try taking an antihistamine in case it's allergy related.

In the end my dd had her nose cauterised to help and she seems less prone to them now

I took my son for nasal cautery. He hasnt had once since. Think it was about £250 privately a few years ago. Was sick of blood stains everywhere and phonecalls from school. Was so worth it.

@dementedpixie No he has not ! Thank you, I will ask. And good idea re allergies, not sure he does though perhaps it’s pseudo hay fever related?
and thank you both, @jlox , re cauterisation. I guess we will have to look into that. Agreed on the sheets, DS is pretty good bless him but it’s not nice being woken up like that and yeah it can get everywhere …

My sons were really awful. If he had a cold, his nose would bleed, if he blew it hard, it would bleed. If the heating was on high, he'd bleed, if he dived into water, it bled. Even if he sniffed too hard or rubbed his nose, it would bleed. And then there was the random ones inbetween when he was just sitting there or asleep. They'd last for ages aswell. Ive never had one in my life so they always scared me, would cauterise again if they returned but its done the job for 2.5 years.

My neighbour was the same but he turned out to have von Willebrand disease. Maybe worth checking.
