My DS has just turned 2. He has always snored but it has steadily become more extreme and exaggerated to the point it is now every time he sleeps and would give a grown man a run for his money! There are frequent gasps and snorts whilst asleep as if trying to intake more air.
We have a family history of enlarged tonsils - including myself - and as he napped today, a family member suggested it may be OSA.
He also has a speech delay which we have thought was possibly linked to autism and are trying to get a referral for but the health visitors have refused to help until he was 2. I’m now wondering if his tonsils may be affecting his speech also.
I’m going to take him the GP about it but he is not underweight (not overweight either!) and he is a good sleeper - in fact he will happily all night and then nap for hours in the day if we didn’t wake him.
I just wondered if anyone had any experience with this and could share or advise? Thanks!
