Fever-can it be caused by teething

Hello
My daughter started nursery in March. Ever since she has a week here and there were she has a high temp.

Had to take her to hospital twice as medicine didn't take temp down. Hospital said its a viral infection.

She's also been very snotty and congested for months and again Dr blames it on maybe a viral infection.

Can a snotty nose and a fever be brought on by teething?

NHS says no but a few older women in my family have said it's connected.

She's my first child so obviously a litte worried she's been so snotty for months and temp on and off. Could it be teething or simply germs picked up from nursery? 😩

Will just be germs from nursery. First year is the worst for it. My little boy is the same. It’s relentless . He’s my second so I know it does get better after the first year

Probs nursery bugs, ours were continuously ill for the first 6 months, we caught it all too, mostly coughs, stuffy noses, conjunctivitis,
ear infections and fevers. One thing after another. They no illnesses when starting school.

There's no medical evidence to support this, but I think with both my boys fever was caused by teething, plus coughing in sleep (presumably from excess dribbling)

It's just nursery. The first year is hell. Second winter wasn't much better, but then it improved.

In my experience teething made mine run a bit warm - temp maybe 37.3 rather than the usual 36.8 kind of thing - but not an actual fever.

It's nursery. My ds started on 7th April and hasn't been there much due to illness. He's now starting to get better with dealing with it tho. Poor thing. I was told this was going to happen
But I have also had him at the hospital thinking it was something more serious than a viral infection - especially worried as his temp went to 40.2 and wouldn't come down

What I've learned from that visit is to give paracetamol and ibuprofen 2 hours apart which should bring the temp down and keep it down. I only ever thought calpol was for fever but know now how to treat at home. Invaluable advice that's saved a few 111 calls

Mine definitely got a bit flushed when teething and felt warm but not something I'd describe as a full fever/ burning up.
