Tongue Tie

My DS is 5 weeks and has tongue tie. He is feeding fine - a little gassy but so were my other babies.
DH wants to get it snipped to prevent speech problems in the future. I want to avoid the procedure if possible.
Does anyone know the likelihood of him developing speech problems?
Has anyone left a tongue tie and regretted it?
Our midwife will only snip up to 8 weeks so need to decide soon.
Thanks

Get it done. My tongue tie ruined my musical career.

Definitely have it divided.

My DH has a tongue tie and a mild speech impediment as an adult. As a child, no one could understand him and he was a very late talker.

My DS had his TT divided and I have a suspicion it partially reattached, he struggles to say "th", but this could be because he copies my DH who cannot make that sound either.

It can cause issues with weaning onto solids also as well as speech.

It's a 2 second procedure and I think DS cried for 5 seconds after until I latched him on.
