my girl is 5 months old and has had heat rash for nearly a week now, we are trying to keep her cool and have a fan on in the house through the day and night. she has no other symptoms and hasn’t had a temp at all, but the little spots are all on her arms (worse on right as as contact naps still and that’s the arm she sleep on), neck, a few on her back, on her chest/belly and in her hair on her head. should i take her to the gp on monday? how can i try help her in the meantime, im just so lost

My DS always gets heat rash at some point in the summer, I’ve always found giving a lukewarm/coolish bath (obviously still at a comfortable temp for baby) and keeping them out of direct sunlight as much as poss is helpful (sunshades in the car, under parasols or awnings in the garden etc), a hat with a little flap at the back (called a legionnaires hat) to protect the neck from heat and sun is useful too. I use a blackout blind in his room which I keep over the window 24/7 as it helps keep it cool in there. When drying after bath, pat dry instead of rubbing can help too. If still worried, a trip to gp is always an option as you say.

thank you! i’ve been trying to bath her frequently and keep her out of the sun as much as possible, went to the pharmacy over the weekend and they suggested calamine lotion so we’re seeing how that goes then think about seeing gp. will definitely look into the hats tho as i haven’t got one!
