Do 4 year old growth spurts exist? Advice please

Hi all again. So I posted recently about my son not being well or really being himself, seems to have been completely knocked out by some viral infection that doesn't have many specific symptoms. It's been 7 days since he fell ill.
Hes still really up and down, he's so tired bless him he has energy at the beginning of the day but come 1pm ish he crashed and says mummy I'm so tired and wants to lay down with his tablet. Hes currently having a nap right now.
He stopped napping a couple months after turning three so it's been well over a year.
We went out to a family event at a pub yesterday and he was absolutely shattered, miserable, and wouldn't walk home my dad literally had to carry him home for me while he was screaming. I think he wanted to ride his scooter home but he was too tired but his little brain didn't understand.
I guess my question is is this all normal?
For a 4 year old to suddenly go through a stage where they are quite tired, are wanting naps again and are just generally a misery guts every day?
He had bloods done on Friday, waiting for those results this coming week fingers crossed all is okay.
Any experiences and advice to deal with this? I'm finding it very difficult to handle him, his tiredness and his moodiness at the moment, I'm exhausted.

Sounds like he is still recovering from having a virus. In my experience they continue to have growth spurts but they’re just hungry all the time rather than tired.

I think it sounds like he could be ill.

Can you rule out some of the classic ones - ear infection? UTI? Worms?

How's his weight? Going to the toilet regularly? Does he mention any pain?

Oh just re-read and you said he had a virus - this could be post viral fatigue then. That can take months to shift but should hopefully get gradually better every week

I took him to the doctors twice last week, they checked for uti, ear nose and throat, chest etc and couldn't find anything so put it down to a viral infection. I have been thinking worms maybe, but I've looked at his poo and his bum and can't see anything.
His weight is fine, he wees and poos regularly although hasn't been pooing as much this past week he seems to be struggling to get it out a bit, and no complaints of pain
