Double vision

what might cause this? Today my DD 8 has been complaining of seeing 2 words rather than 1 when she reads - never mentioned this before and had an eye test around a year ago which was fine.

I would take her for a new eye test and inform the optician about the double vision. It could be as simple as tiredness making her less able to focus. It could be one eye losing sight while the other hasn’t so there is a gap between them in diopters.

There isn’t a way to know what is causing it without seeing an optometrist. Her sight test should be free on the NHS.

Thank you! Not sure if it’s related but I happened to cuddle
her and thought she felt toasty - she has a fever of 39, could that cause a temporary double
vision? She’s no stranger to high temps but it’s never affected her sight before
☹️

sometimes viral infections can cause you to lose fusion and get double vision.

definitely get her an eye exam after the fever goes down, even if the double vision has gone
