2 year old still has cradle cap

My little girl has always suffered with cradle cap since a baby. Got rid of it and it came back and now it's covering all the top of her scalp.

Tried dentinox and even tried olive oil but it's really stubborn!

Any suggestions? Can the doctors prescribe anything?

My 8 year old still has it. Younger boys too. I’ve given up trying to get rid of it. It doesn’t bother them. Maybe as an adult it’s dandruff?! I don’t know. I think it’s normal still to have it.

Doctor won’t do anything until at least 5 normally. My little one has finally outgrown it at 6 in August

Head and shoulders here too. or leave him with my mil for the weekend. She cleared a load of it where I was too much of a wimp

It think you have to lift the patches a bit - they do things in boots which sort of scratch at the patches but I used very very clean fingernails - and then put olive oil on so it gets underneath. That was the only way I got rid of DS’s as a baby.

However it’s come back a bit as a toddler so I think it’s pretty normal for them to have it. It’s hidden by his hair now I’m not bothering with it.

Following as my 4 year old DS has it and we have tried everything. Always comes back. I brushed a ton of it out last summer and thought that was it but no. The doctors prescribed something, it made his eczema 100 x worse. Cradle cap shampoo didn't work either

It's basically a form of eczema/dermatitis. It's super common and common in people of all ages but we usually just call it dandruff. My 2.5yo still gets it and he gets eczema elsewhere on his body too. As an adult I still get both too. If it's not bothering your LO there's no need to do anything special.

Both of mine had it for a good few years, but it got less noticeable once they their hair got thicker/more dense. Eventually it cleared up by itself, I‘d say around age 4-5.
