Chicken Pox

Hi Everyone, I am fairly certain my DS8 has come out in chicken pox today. He wasn't well last night, with a headache and loss of appetite. I'm not worried as I have older DC who had it, one of those things. My question is, I have my Dsis baby shower on Saturday. Is it wise to go ? I am immunised. Not sure on Dsis but assume she would be, but I am also aware of the risk to pregnant ladies. Can I pass it on despite being immunised myself? Is it best to give it a miss?

I’d miss it. Being vaccinated doesn’t mean that you can’t catch it, it lessens the risk.

Those were my thoughts too. Thanks for responding, sometimes it's nice to have others thoughts

If I'd had it before I would go, if not then I'd miss it.

I definitely had it as a child, but down the Google rabbit hole and it says you can get it again, plus pass it on..argh

You can't be a middle man and pass it on. I'd go no issues.

You would never forgive yourself if you went and she caught it, even though the odds are incredibly small. A baby shower is 4 or 5 hours, but you will have a lifetime with your new neice or nephew. So just prioritise that and their future wellbeing.

Yep, have had a chat with my brother and like a PP said, I wouldn't forgive myself, despite the risk being small. Thanks everyone!
