My son has had a rash for almost 3 weeks. First we were told hand foot and mouth, then nor sure, now apparently its viral. However its continuing to slowly spread and isn't disappearing. He's 4 and fine in himself although itching alot and it's sometimes hurting him. We've done Piriton and creams but nothing is working. Would you keep at the gp? So far we've not seen an actual doctor but a nurse. Can't seem to actually get through to a doctor... what would you do? It's basically a faint to pink raised spotty rash on the trunk of his body. Very sore on his feet on the side and his hands. Slowly I can see the odd spot on his arms

Yep, time to see the GP. Push for it.

My daughter gets rashes that are light pink not always super visible and feel like sandpaper in response to allergens. We have to do aqueous twice and day and antihistamines 2-3 times a day every day for at least 2 weeks. Usually around 1 week we start to see an improvement. We have a mild steroid cream if that doesn't shift it. It can take 4-6 weeks for her rash to go completely. Usually something like 2 weeks with just moisturiser or aqueous cream, 2 weeks of consistent aqueous cream and antihistamines and then 2 weeks of aqueous cream to keep on top of it.

Well the doctor has repeated that it's likely a virus. Said to go back if he gets a sore throat.

The rash on the tummy us now fading but his poor feet and hands are still coming up in itchy raised bumps. Maybe an allergy? But nothing has changed so who knows !
