My 5 year old has had tummy pain and temp since Monday. She was taken to doctors on Wednesday but had taken ibuprofen so was feeling better when seen. Today her tummy feels a little better but her fever hasn't broken. Just lowers with medicine. I have to encourage her to eat because in the past when she hasn't her blood sugar level have dipped. I'm just wondering how long this can last. She's lost weight and I'm worried. I'm wondering if I should wait for Monday for another doctors trip or visit the a&e or just wait it out a few more day ?

Is she drinking well? When the GP examined her I guess they didn't find red throat or raised lymph nodes etc, something indicating a viral infection?

She's drinking sips of water. I know her stomach hurts for sure . Her temp has gone down with medicine but she's still wincing and struggling to play with her stomach pain and has decided to lie down. I just don't know how to help her at this point. She's taking small bites of food with a lot of encouragement. She didn't see anything in her month but that was Wednesday. Just wondering what best next step is at this point

Could be constipation?

Had a similar situation with DD (7) : sore tummy, low energy, low hunger (but no temperature)- turned out to be constipation after doctor visit

My wee one is the same. We had to take him to
out of hours. His temperature just wouldn’t go down despite both calpol and ibuprofen.
out of hours gp said he has strep A /Scarlett fever, it seems to be doing the rounds at the moment.

I'd be worried about appendicitis - it doesn't always present in the usual way when they're so tiny. Take her to urgent care / A&E.

Spent two weeks in the RVI in Newcastle with my step daughter who had appendicitis as a four year old - it was diagnosed as a uti until she got really unwell and we took her to A&E.

Can I ask how they diagnosed strep a. That's what I'm suspecting she's been saying her mouth hurts. She has a white tongue and I've noticed red spots at the roof of the mouth which is what my youngest had but he had an ear infection so they were quick to give antibiotics which is what I think she needs.

Her urine was tested when she had a general check up and it was clear of uti. Her stomach has seem to have settled down it seems more her mouth that hurts that won't let her eat. Her temp still rises once medicine wears off. I am thinking about a&e tbh what were your daughters symptoms

a sustained high temperature , and he has a red rash appearing all over his body. He has no associated respiratory symptoms
