My son has had this all over his tummy, back and tops of legs/bum since last Sunday so a good 6 days nearly a week. He says they aren't itchy, he's well in himself other than feeling more tired than usual/darker circles around his eyes, I had him at the doctors and even the doctor was stumped, he requested a urine sample which won't be back till Monday now. We've stamped out allergies as far as we are aware, Does anyone have any ideas? Because they aren't going away I've never known rashes staying put for all this time. They look kinda yellow/skin colour more than red or pink

Could it be an allergic reaction? There's a symptom of an allergic reaction in children called "allergy shiners" where they get dark circles around their eyes almost like they have black eyes

Ring worm or some other fungal thing.

Strawberrypie33 · 23/03/2024 18:00

@Superscientist No allergy, I've given him antihistamine time after time and nothing even the doctor said no to allergy I couldn't think what would he be allergic too as there's been no changes with anything

@SantaBarbaraMonica ive looked up ringworm they appear to more Likr rings these on my son are tiny little rough spots not red but yellow in colour or skin colour, it's odd I've looked everything up and I can't find a match since he has no other symptoms, I'm hoping the doctor on Monday can shed some light

An allergy can develop at any time. I went into anaphylaxis at 21 having never had an allergic reaction to food before!

My daughter has allergies and I would say that understanding of allergies is poor amongst GPs. The head of a peer support allergy mums group I'm a member of is doing a lot of work with our PCT as GP and HV knowledge of childhood allergies often is lacking and it doesn't actually form apart of compulsory GP training. Something she is also campaigning to change!

Edit to add. My daughters allergies are nonIGE /delayed and when she gets a rash it takes 2-6 weeks for it to go with daily antihistamines and aqueous cream. We have a steroid cream prescribed too but we haven't had to use it yet as it always starts to improve before this is necessary
