Any dentists on here or anyone that's gone through the same thing? Need some reassurance!
My DD (18 months) took a fall down a step today and hit her front on the skirting somehow. Cue lots of bleeding and a fat lip - thought it was coming from the lip but on closer inspection realised it was from her tooth.
The tooth is only partially out anyway as she's a late bloomer with her teeth. It's the one right next to her top front teeth. I took her to the dentist just to get checked and she was very blunt (after a struggle of trying to get my distressed DD to open her mouth) she said the tooth is more mobile than it should be at this stage and will probably turn black and need removing under GA. Then she sent me on my way. Now I've read online that the tooth could heal and go back to being white. How likely is that? Should it be more protected since it's not fully out or is that worse? Would you recommend keeping the tooth in so it doesn't cause problems later on? She was saying it's more likely going to develop an abscess if I do that.
Thanks in advance. I've been crying all day about it and obviously want her to keep the few baby teeth she has 😢
