Toddler random spots

Is it normal for children to come out in random spots? We’ve had this problem since June last year although June was quite bad she was getting spots that were growing and then leaving scars on her skin and the dermatologist said it just looked like impetigo from infected eczema (Although by time we got the dermatologist appointment her skin had cleared so she was just going off pictures) Since then she still keep getting random spots on her body they’re not getting any bigger which is good but I don’t know what’s causing them. They’re mainly on her front or back hardly on her legs or arms never had any on her face/neck. We took her to the doctors about 3 weeks ago and she said it’s viral rash. But that went now she’s got 2 new ones. It’s not chicken pox.
Ill attach some photos, they are also not itchy or irritating her.

I don't know if it's normal but my little one gets them too. It's not bothering her and they usually disappear in 2 or 3 days so I have been letting them be. She usually gets them on the chest, tummy and top of her arms.

Sometimes we don't have them for a few weeks then we get one a day for a week, it's totally random.

@IrritatingCough have you been to the gp about them?

@Lauren8642 no I haven't as she isn't bothered by them and has no symptoms of anything. Overall I think she just has more sensitive skin than her sibling. She also used to get quite red and spotty around her mouth sometimes after food. Now I think of it that seems to barely happen anymore at 2.5 year old so I think she is outgrowing it.

Hi! My little one has the same; did anyone ever find out the cause? The GP had no idea when we checked and my DS continues to get them on his trunk and arms (identical to your picture!) no idea what could get causing them! @Lauren8642 @IrritatingCough

@Hootytooty nope we have still no idea. We went to doctors again in June because I got fed up saw a lovely doctor who referred us to dermatologist because she has no idea what it is. Got the appointment through last week and it’s not until December. Since June she hasn’t had many just the odd one here at there but we’re currently on holiday atm and the other day she come out in loads! Only on her trunk and couple on back.

Hey, did you ever get to the bottom of this? My little is like this altogether got about 7 spots but all so spaced apart and looks just like your photos. Wondering if it needs the doctors or is it just as the weather where I am is a lot warmer , or milk reaction as he’s now off formula and onto cows milk. I have no idea. I though chicken pox but they don’t go scabby or seem to bother him .

@Solomummy91 I was IrritatingCough in that thread. I never got to the bottom of it, we had nothing all winter and I forgot about this issue, but it has started again in the last month. It looks exactly like the pictures on the thread. Clustered smaller ones on tummy usually and one or two angrier ones on thighs/upper arms/bottom that quickly disappear then reappear somewhere else.

So still no idea, but at least it's nothing bad!

My DD had a spate of this between 1 and just turned 2 ish. We were told by our GP and a private GP that it was molluscum contagiosum (it never looked like the Google photos of that but both did separately say the same thing) it never bothered DD - just me 😂 but they just went away one day and touch wood haven’t ever appeared again. She’s 3 now and pale, prone to mild rashes/flushing but never the weird random spots.
