also my son started been sick couple a days ago aswell and it’s been constant he also has diarrhoea.

has any one else kids been like this and recovered soon it just seems constant for
them and they can’t keep any food down there just bringing it back up.

What age?

Have you checked for dehydration?

How often is she vomiting? What are you giving her food and drink wise?

midgetastic · 16/03/2024 10:15

When someone is sick the best thing is to not give food for 24 or 48 hrs as the food feeds the bugs

Dioralite and plenty of liquids only

( very young children probably different)

daughter is 5 son is 6

they are absolutely fine taking fluids all she wants is water or fruit shoot normally I won’t give fruitshoots but if it keeps down then fine for now.

they both are been sick every time they have something to eat I’m trying to limit what they eat and offer them food unless they ask for something like just about half hour ago they wanted toast and fruit salad I gave them both this son kept it down my daughter brought it up within 5 mins of eating it .

@midgetastic yeah it’s hard to not give them anything because they are hungry and do want food and are asking for it and I don’t like not giving them if they want it but I know one of them will bring it back up so I’m on hand at the side waiting .

What do you mean "feeds" the bugs?

I think you need to speak to 111 tbh. This is going on a very long time and she's very young. She can't keep food down, so she's nutritionally depleted.

Avoid proper fruit juices though, it's not good for this but weak squash is fine.

Please look at dioralyte or paedialyte sachets for dehydration - it's so important she has the proper electrolytes etc in her system which the vomiting and liquids she's taking in will be depleting.

Diarrhoea and vomiting

Diarrhoea and vomiting are common in adults, children and babies. Find out how to treat and avoid spreading them, and when to get medical help.

I also think I'd maybe try 111. 9 day is being sick "constantly" is so long for a little child.

Agree that she needs fluid more than food though. Try sugary drinks even and give them to her room temperature and not ice cold.

9 days being sick*

jannier · 16/03/2024 11:08

Normally you would get medical advice after a few days so I'd definitely call 111.
Fruit salad is an odd choice of foods to give dry stuff like toast lots of fluid and rehydration salts.

Have you tried ice lollies?
