Hi all we have a health issues with our 9yo. Have seen all our GPs in our surgery. He has ongoing extreme fatigue with headache for 8weeks. He hardly make it to school as he is either too tired or down with infection and needs antibiotics. To doctors they put it down to anxiety now I give up. School is very helpful and offered part-time hrs. They can see how much he is struggling. We are based in West midlands. To get bloods taken as urgent app takes 3momths. He had basic blodds done at A and E as I couldn't watch him anymore. Came back ok. He needs further testing I am not willing to wait. I would like a Private gp who can maybe send us to NHS hospital to have it all done. Somebody said on fb they have done it that way saves money for all tests just pay the consultation. Anybody had issues like this and found private gp that could help us? Thank you

Are there specific blood test results you are interested in? I'd say he would be better off with a referral to paediatrics than a review from a private GP who is likely to be picking tests pretty much at random.

A private GP can't usually refer you back into the NHS for treatment (although some NHS GPs may agree to prescribe medication). I agree that you are better trying to see a private paediatrician although the cost will be higher than a private GP.

A private GP won’t be able to refer for NHS tests, you’d have to pay for them yourself which especially when it comes to bloods costs can quickly mount up. I agree that a private paediatrician appointment (usually around £250) will be the best use of your time and money - if he needs further diagnostics the consultant will be able to transfer him over to their NHS list for these
