They look very normal, don't worry.

Looks normal to me.

Do you think your baby’s skin looks a little mottled? Not sure if that’s the camera zooming in?

Its always better to reassure yourself by visiting the GP as it will put your mind at rest.

Congratulations on your baby!

Looks normal to me. Newborn circulation is very poor so it's common for their legs and arms to be mottled purply red.

Normal to me too.

Pigglyplaystruant99 · 02/03/2024 20:04

I sorry not much hel, but I would describe this pigment as 'mottley' if that makes sense? When my daughter was a newborn, one of her arms seemed to be red (not mottley, though), but enough to alarm me (I was a 2nd time mum). I felt I had to make a real song and dance about it as I was just meekly told 'it's normal for a newborn'. It did turn out to be nothing in the end, but was nonetheless extremely worrying for me at the time. You need reassurance, at very least. Good luck.

It's defiantly not mottled but realised when she's colder when changing clothes she become more red and then goes lighter again in couple minutes iv been watching her like an owl and just got myself overwhelemed I think

This is exactly what my legs do when I’m cold 😂 except I also get a nice blue tinge!

Looks perfectly normal, congratulations.

Bringtheweatherwithyou · 02/03/2024 20:10

Ah it’s just your maternal protectiveness, better to have it than not have it.

My legs do this after a shower and when cold too although like PP I have a blue/purple tinge too 🤣

Just wanted to say what a nice, sensible load of replies here. So understanding of mum, great examples to ease her mind! That's what Mumsnet can be great at.
