We’re on day 5/6 I believe I can’t actually remember precisely when she started coughing .. she’s 4 months old
I have been to doctors non stop because her coughing was getting worse and I felt she was working hard on breathing . She was fine and just told me to keep eye
this morning she just hasn’t stopped coughing , and all night too , she has these coughing fits and just takes ages to stop , hardly getting a breath between them . She’s feeding as I type this , no doubt will cough mucus up with her bottle . I don’t want to keep pesting the doctor as they’ve seen her 3 times but her wee cough is so chesty and constant:( edit I will obviously take her if needed but I’m afraid they’re going to think I’m crazy for taking her 4 days in a row for them to tell me the same thing

I would get her seen again. Is she sucking in around her ribs when she coughs, not keeping milk down, dehydrated? She may need her oxygen levels monitored.

Bronchiolitis is horrible, I feel your worry!

The cough can last weeks even after the virus has passed. Keep checking her breathing yourself, if she it sucking in under her ribs or you can see the base of her neck sucking in then that requires hospitalisation for some oxygen and support with breathing. Also as long as she is still taking most of her bottles then it's fine.

DS2 was hospitalised with it last year but he was less than a month old at the time. I took him in when he had been asleep for 24 hours and I couldn't get him to take enough milk. He was on high flow oxygen for 4 days and also needed a very strong antibiotic for bacterial pneumonia but he fully recovered within a week if first coughing. Day 4/5 are the worst and then it improved rapidly for us.

She was off her milk for a few days but she’s slowly taking more now ! She’s not sucking in I don’t think

Nurse a few times noticed her neck sucking in mildly but her oxygen levels were fine . X
